NBL 2016-17 Wrap

And that’s a wrap! We are pleased to report a successful first season of NBL for TipBetPro finishing with a more than handy 11% profit. It would be fair to say it wasn’t all smooth sailing – at one stage TBP NBL was down in the order of 20% following a horrific run mid-season where we won just 4 of 19 bets. A few minor tweaks to the model and a return to sanity in the NBL (the competition was going against all statistical trends for a while there) and we were back on track. More than any other sport, the NBL model fed off data and our accuracy level was through the roof towards the end of the season – winning our last 8 bets through the finals series a very handy finish!

By team – it is no surprise that we were most successful off the more successful sides. We loved the Perth Wildcats all season with a season high 22 H2H or line bets and whilst the champions led us astray early on, they came charging home to be a profitable team for us by season end. Our real favourites though were Cairns who we believe were horribly under-rated by the bookies all season. We bet on the Taipans 19 times (2nd only to Perth) for an incredible 14 wins and 5 losses to give the Taipans the honour of being the most profitable side for TBP.

At the other of the spectrum and our model was too slow to pick up the woes of the wooden spooners from Brisbane. After wins with our first 4 bets on the Bullets, we lost 10 on the trot before our model finally caught up (largely due to the impact of some big injuries) by which time Brisbane had easily claimed the mantle of our least successful side to bet on.

I hope you’ve enjoyed our foray into NBL betting as much as we have! Don’t forget to like us on Facebook (@TipBetPro) and follow us on Twitter (@TipBetPro) and check out our AFL, NRL, Cricket and Netball betting recommendations!
