NRL Round 11 Wrap-Up

No, you do NOT need to adjust your eyes - the Titans column really is that much bigger than the rest! We may have to adjust the graph axis soon to accommodate it!

The week started with a bit of a fizzle. We had high hopes for our favourites the Dragons, who looked good against the Rabbitohs. But as soon as those monkeys in the bunker claimed Josh Dugan hadn't put downward pressure on the ball (bearing in mind he basically snapped his elbow forcing the ball into the turf) the writing was on the wall. We are not bitter honest. Gosh we dislike the Rabbitohs (and the Bunker).

So roll on to the clash of the round. The Broncos were our tip and geez they looked like they were coasting home. But you can never rule out a champion team and so it proved, as the Thurston led Cowboys repeated the GF trick of winning by one point (note there must be a market for a field goal kicking coach in the NRL - or maybe a psychologist - as soon as you get within the last few minutes or GP, they all start kicking like my mum).

So two games in - no tips, two bets down, and we were fearing the worst.

Cue the Raiders - we were ridiculed a bit in certain circles (you know who you are) around our Raiders tip and to be honest, we don't know why. The Warriors are always a chance to under-perform and the Raiders are actually quite good (occasionally) and so it proved. This was swiftly followed by another Sharks win and a nice little return (we note they weren't as good as usual and missed the line by 0.5, but a wins a win).

We were 2-2 on bets and out ran the Titans. It would be fair to say 74 minutes later we were thinking another one had gone begging, but you can never write off the Titans. Ashley Taylor, try and conversion. Anthony Don, try. Remember these names folks as they will go down in TBP folklore! And nearly $4.00 will go in our accounts (well $4.00 x stake).

And then we came to the Roosters - we had surprisingly tipped them and to be quite honest they didn't look too bad - if they could string 80 minutes together they actually might win a game or two! That Mitchell is pretty good.

Finally, we loved the value on the Storm - couldn't understand why they weren't favourites on Tuesday (they did come in probably after we tipped them) and they repaid the faith. A fine week in the end.

In case you didn't know it's Origin 1, and TBP's first ever one. Look out for our tips and bets. Happy punting.
