AFL Round 3 Wrap-Up
Round 3 Summary
Season To Date Summary
Normal service has resumed! TipBetPro stormed back into the black with a terrific week of tipping and betting that yielded strong results for followers of the TipBetPro model.
Friday night saw mixed results with Port defeating Essendon as expected to pick up the first leg of our AFL multi but the margin was great than the line to crash our first novelty bet of the week.
Things turned up considerably on Saturday. The numbers were saying that St Kilda were a very strong chance of upsetting Collingwood and so it proved as the Saints ran over the top of the under-manned Pies delivering our first Bet of the Week winner of the season with a big $2.85 return all but eliminating the early round losses. Adelaide's crushing defeat of Richmond saw a 2nd Head to Head winner before our weekly loss betting on Sydney to lose returned a bit of money back to the bookies! We promise the TipBetPro model is updating weekly to reflect the Swans dominant start to the season (in fairness despite three bet losses going against the Swans we are yet to tip against them). Interestingly our two biggest rises from how the TipBetPro model rated teams at the start of year are Sydney and Adelaide and those two face off in what should be a cracking Round 4 battle at Adelaide Oval.
Saturday night saw West Coast shake off a determined Fremantle and consign the Dockers to a 3rd loss to start the season. Of worse news to the Dockers is injury to highly rated ruckman Aaron Sandilands (rated before this round by TipBetPro as the 11th most influential player in the competition) with a punctured lung set to see the Dockers giant spend an extended stint on the sidelines. Gold Coast continued their undefeated start to the season and more importantly for TipBetPro followers covered the line as they comfortably accounted for Carlton to finish a great day for TipBetPro on a fitting high note.
The good times kept coming on Sunday but gee we had to work for it. From a tipping perspective, we completed a strong round of 8 from 9 when the Hawks (surprise underdogs with the bookies as at Thursday night) snuck home against the Dogs to deliver TipBetPro a crucial swinging tip (on a sadder note was there a worse sight in footy this week than inspirational Dogs skipper Bob Murphy being carried off in the final minute with a suspected ACL). From the betting side of things we needed North and Geelong to get home to complete our multi novelty for the week. Geelong defeated Brisbane easily as expected but North survived a serious scare from the Dees and it was a relieved TipBetPro camp when the siren sounded to end a Melbourne fight-back.
So a rough first two rounds is all cancelled out with a strong Round 3 performance and we here at TipBetPro look forward to more success with some tantalising match-ups ahead in Round 4.
